We are currently recruiting for additional members of the unit - please view our Recruitment Page for more information.

Members need to be able to pass a Police Check and be resident in the Hutt Valley. You would be expected to be available to respond to their pager during your duty fortnight, between 1800 and 0600 weekdays, plus all weekend.

Daytime responses during the week are responded in a 'all-hands-as-available' basis. We are particularly keen to hear from potential members who would be available to respond within the Hutt area during the business day.

Hutt Valley Fire Police meet for training and administration every two weeks. Currently our headquarters are at Rimutaka Fire Station in Upper Hutt, although we also regularly make use of training facilities at Trentham station. We look forward to opportunities to train with other volunteer brigades across the region.
