Hutt Valley Fire Police ride the Goodwill Express

Hutt Valley Fire Police were amongst the volunteers giving their time and resources to the Goodwill Express on 28 November 2009. This is a special TranzMetro service, with trains stopping at each station along the lines to Upper Hutt and Paraparaumu, picking up donations for the Salvation Army Foodbank.

Members of HVFP assisted Flint and Amber, the NZFS Fire Safety Ambassadors, to man the train.

This served as an excellent opportunity to help publicise the role that Volunteers have in the Fire Service and also to incorporate a useful plug for Fire Safety.

Thanks to all of those who helped the Goodwill Express succeed.
